North Edinburgh Community Shed

North Edinburgh Community Shed

The Shed is a place where people can come to either make stuff or mend stuff. We have a fine array of tools you can use on site and a good selection of wood which you are welcome to help yourself to, to enable you build whatever it is that you wish to make. Staff are on hand to support you make what you want to make.

The primary focus of the shed is to reuse wood, furniture, tools etc. so as to reduce climate change.  Each year in Scotland we throw away tons of stuff into landfill, including wood and furniture, that could be recycled, reused, mended or made into something completely different. The Community Shed will do its bit to reduce this waste and convert it into useful and beautiful things. We will also inform local people about climate change and what they can do to minimise their own impact.

The Shed is open to anyone aged 16 or over from the North Edinburgh community. The Shed is free to use and refreshments will be available at each session. The Shed operates a first come, first served drop-in system and we can accommodate a maximum of 7- 8 members at any one time.
